Our Story
The Future Stars Story
Future Stars International was founded in response to the lack of educational opportunities for children in Buduburam, Ghana. At the heart of this vision is Shadrack, a Ghanaian native who imagined Future Stars at just 19 years old.
Growing up in abject poverty, Shadrack faced overwhelming challenges in financing his own education. To afford high school, he took on dangerous construction jobs and worked long hours at the local market. Yet, despite his circumstances, he remained committed to a greater purpose. During his limited free time, he began teaching children in his community who could not afford to attend school—he called them “Future Stars.”
Through unwavering determination and relentless effort, Shadrack graduated from high school. Instead of pursuing personal gain, he made a life-changing decision: to dedicate himself fully to educating and caring for vulnerable children.
With limited resources, but a powerful vision, Shadrack raised enough money to rent a small commercial space and an apartment. He transformed the commercial space into a primary school and the apartment into a children’s home. For over a decade, he has lived with the children, working tirelessly to ensure they have consistent access to education, food, clean water, shelter, and emotional support.
Future Stars International is committed to providing underprivileged children with the fundamental necessities of life, including:
- Access to quality education
- Food and clean water
- Safe housing
- Psychological and emotional support
We believe that investing in the next generation is the most powerful way to break the cycle of poverty in Ghana.
