About Us

Who We Are

Future Stars International is a grassroot, non-governmental, and non-profit organization based in Buduburam, in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region of Ghana. Our mission is to improve health and educational opportunities for underprivileged children in Buduburam and its environs. 

Through community-driven projects supported by volunteers from around the world, we work to create lasting impact and contribute toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and uphold the principles of the UN Global Compact. 

Our Approach to Eradicating Poverty

At Future Stars, we believe in sustainable, locally driven change. Our key strategies include:

  • Creating educational opportunities to reduce illiteracy. We are dedicated to illuminating futures by establishing accessible learning environments and providing essential resources that empower individuals to overcome illiteracy and unlock their full potential.
  • Conducting research on local causes of child labour and working to eliminate them. Through meticulous local research, we uncover the root causes of child labour, inform targeted interventions, and collaborate with communities to dismantle the systems that exploit children, advocating for their right to a childhood.
  • Promoting public health awareness through targeted campaigns. We champion healthier communities by designing and executing impactful, culturally sensitive campaigns that educate and empower individuals with vital knowledge to prevent disease and promote well-being.
  • Building children's self-confidence to enhance their learning capacity. Recognizing that confidence is key to comprehension, we implement engaging programs and supportive environments that nurture children's self-belief, encouraging them to explore, question, and excel in their learning journey.
  • Teaching gender equality through inclusive education initiatives. We actively foster a world of fairness and respect by integrating principles of gender equality into all our educational programs, ensuring that every child learns their inherent worth and the importance of equal opportunity.

Future Stars International is committed to driving lasting change through grassroots development. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for underprivileged children and families in Buduburam by focusing on education, health, and community empowerment.

Organizational Structure

Future Stars International is driven by a diverse and multi-disciplinary team of dedicated professionals. Our organizational structure is designed to support effective program delivery, community engagement, and operational excellence.

Future Stars International is guided by a Board of Directors, which plays a strategic advisory role. The Board provides oversight on project implementation, sets organizational policies, and ensures alignment with our mission and values.

  • Executive Director (Programs Director)
    Oversees overall program strategy, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Finance and Administrative Director
    Manages financial planning, budgeting, and administrative operations.
    • Administrative Secretary
      Provides essential clerical and organizational support to the management team.
  • Project Coordinator
    Coordinates project activities and ensures smooth execution across all field operations.

 

Our Field Facilitators (Project Assistants) are responsible for day-to-day project implementation and community engagement. They report directly to the Board of Directors through the Project Coordinator and are required to submit project proposals, budget estimates, progress reports, and participate in General Meetings.

Future Stars International is also supported by a growing network of local and international volunteers and interns. These individuals contribute valuable expertise and energy to our initiatives, helping us expand our reach and impact.
